Description

This battle-tested full-length aluminum roof rack, for the 1996-2002 3rd Gen 4Runner, has been proven to get your gear to some of the most remote places in the country. Explore more and worry less with our industry-leading ¼” thick aircraft-grade aluminum side panels and stainless steel hardware. Secure your gear by bolting into one of the 9 extrusion crossbars or by strapping it directly to the side plates. This rack is “drill-free” and requires zero modification to your vehicle utilizing the factory roof tracks for easy installation.
8 anchor plates are required for installation. If your tracks are missing anchor plates, you can purchase them here.
This rack is compatible with our Window Panel which you can purchase here.
Also fits 1990-1995 2nd Gen Toyota 4Runner if roof tracks are installed.
This rack comes standard with a black textured powder coat finish, black anodized crossbars, and black oxide stainless steel hardware.

Shorter to fit your light bar
This is option is a few inches shorter so that there is room for your light bar behind your fairing. Pair this with our light bar brackets and it will form a cut off line to reduce light wash on your hood.
Smooth face to deflect more air
Don't have a light bar? Not a problem! The Full Fairing is for you. This will make sure that you are deflecting all of the air around your rack. You can always upgrade later if needed!

Mario R. After 2 full years of owning the Matterhorn with the half height fairing on my 1993 2nd gen 4runner, I figured it's time to finally give a review. Short answer, its a premium rack that has withstood weight, weather, vigorous trails, and holds almost anything you can throw at it. Long answer. Owning a 3.4 swapped 5spd 4x4 2nd gen 4runner has its ups and downs. 2nd gens dont have a sick aftermarket like 3rd gens. It took months looking for a rack that met my needs. Bam! Sherpa stumbles into my searches and onward began to see if it will fit. Luckily sherpa vaguely states "will fit 2nd gens" and so i pulled the trigger and purchased it. This is something that they should really push in their ads and include in the title so that when another possible consumer searches "2nd gen 4runner roof rack" this presents itself as the first option. So many times on the trail or the SoCal @yotatrader meet, someone (with the same vehicle) asks "where and how can I get that roof rack, I've searched eveywhere?!". I always let them know its from the bros at sherpa and that it will bolt on 100% of the time if they got the stock roof rail. It's held up well these last 2 years, im sure it'll last way more

Dave S. I've had this rack since it was first introduced. I love it. Sturdy, fairly easy to install, no wind noise, and it looks great. It doesn't have as many tie-down points as I'd like, so I had to buy a bunch of those Smiley things that Sherpa sells. Installation kit was missing some bolts but Sherpa made it right without question.
